23/07/2024Head Coach Jimmy Waugh to Feature on BBC Radio Cornwall
St Austell Amateur Boxing Club is proud to announce that our founder and head coach, Jimmy Waugh, will be appearing live on BBC Radio Cornwall at 7:45am on Friday 25th October 2025 to talk about the club, our values and our growing success in the Cornish boxing community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shine a light on the positive work being done right here in St Austell, helping local people of all ages build confidence, discipline and fitness through boxing.
Celebrating Success: Leland Pedrick
One of the topics Jimmy will be discussing on BBC Radio Cornwall is the rise of Leland Pedrick, a talented young boxer from the club who recently became a West Counties Youth Champion. Leland’s success is a proud moment for everyone involved at the gym and a testament to his hard work, determination and the guidance of his coaches.
Stories like Leland’s show exactly what can be achieved when young people are given structure, encouragement and the right opportunities.
